he Guernsey County Historical Museum, located at 218 N. 8th Street, is the home of the Guernsey County Historical Society

n 2004, the Historical Society and Museum excitedly announced the renovation of two rooms.

family, passing to daughter Mrs. Jane Clark and her family. In 1868, Rev. William H. McFarland, Pastor of the First United Presbyterian Church, purchased the home from William Clark. For the next 95 years the house remained in the possession of the McFarland family, where it was expanded, remodeled, and moved to it’s present location. In 1963, Jeanette McFarland deeded the building to the Guernsey County Historical Society for use as a museum.

The newly redecorated North Parlor now represents the Federal-style. Displayed here is a large collection of local Guernsey County pottery and glass.

The Victorian-style South Parlor displays a collection of furniture representative of periods past.

ach themed room of the museum contains items found and used within Guernsey County. The Formal Dining Room features pottery and glassware produced in the county. The Kitchen displays an excellent collection of early kitchen and

Household items. A General Store room typifies items available from the pre-supermarket days. The Military Room honors Guernsey County’s contribution to the United States Armed Forces. Other rooms have been dedicated to the Rev. William McFarland family and Guernsey County Historian, William Wolfe.

· Cambridge Post Office cart used to collect mail on incoming trains

he Museum is open to the public from 12:00-3:00pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from mid-March to mid-December or by appointment.

Admission fee—$3.00
